Mary Gladstone is a textile artist who lives and works on the small Greek island of Hydra. For the last thirty years she has worked with fibre using different techniques - knitting, weaving and embroidery - sometimes dyeing the thread with plants, sometimes using cast-off clothing cut into strips to weave. With strong family ties to St Ives, in 2023 she went home with books full of watercolours and sketches capturing the rugged Cornish landscape, alongside studies of people enjoying the beaches and waves. This series of Cornish textile pieces are based on her direct observations from that visit, offering a fresh representation of a familiar subject,
