Paddy Martin lives in Fareham, Hampshire, and has conducted a decades-long affair with the sea. When not painting, Paddy is likely to be found surfing, stand up paddle boarding, or walking his dog along the shore, continually drawing inspiration from the water. Using recycled sailcloth as his canvas, he applies paint in layers, creating punchy pieces that zing with energy. Since graduating in Fine Art at the time of Brit Art and studying under some of the YBAs , he has been fascinated by paint, light and by the juxtaposition between the paint and the surface it is applied to. His work has been shown and collected internationally.
